Small Dolls? Catdoll, AXB, J-Cute / 小さなドール

Hello everyone.

Thanks to everyone who has been sharing and posting photos! I’m still looking to make my first purchase (110-142cm) and the photos posted here are amazing and really helpful. It’s really nice when you post the brand, size, and head, it makes researching a lot easier and has given me a lot of ideas.

But what I’m really posting about are some concerning signs that make me second guess moving forward with a purchase.

  1. Catdoll
    I was in contact with both Catdoll.club (the factory?) and Catdoll.jp (Japanese distributor?). I was getting replies, but then suddenly the emails stopped. It looks like all their associated websites are down as well. Anyone know what happened?

  2. AXB
    They seem to have removed the smaller dolls (<147cm) from their menus, but they still show them on their page. The home page also has an announcement about “regulatory circumstances” that caused the factory to shut down temporarily. Anyone know what the issue was?

  3. J-cute
    J-cute is new to me. I only found out about them when I found this forum a few days ago, thank you for that! It looks like they are produced by AXB and overlap with AXB’s product line as well? I can’t find a working website for them. I saw that back in December, people in this forum were discussing that J-cute might have stopped producing dolls. But recently, it looks like they might be releasing new products. Are they still producing new products, how do you reach them?

What does this mean for me and others in the same situation looking to buy small dolls right now? Are we going to see these dolls disappear from the market soon? Apart from changing laws in my area, should I be concerned purchasing from one of these manufacturers?

I would really appreciate any information or advice you can share.

こんにちは。

小さいドールは昨年末のSHEINでの騒動以来、中国での生産は出来なくなりました。身長、見た目が幼く見えるもの全て、今は中国で生産されていません。

1.今現在はサイトは閉じられ、購入する事は出来ません。再開の可能性はありますが、明確な情報がないのでまだお話しできません。

2.AXBは小さいドールの生産拠点を海外に移転しました。まだ移転して間もないので、安定供給には暫く時間がかかります。

3.JcuteはAXBの海外工場で生産されています。HPはありません。Jcuteを扱う代理店に連絡を取ってください。発送できない国、地域があります。

小さいドールを取り巻く環境は、去年末のSHEINの問題で一気に悪化しました。AXB、MLW、Jcuteは海外で生産する事でこの事態を回避しました。

Wow, thank you for the detailed response. I was unaware of the SHEIN incident or the Chinese government cracking down on doll manufacturers (I had to google it). This clears things up a lot, but I am honestly surprised by it. My understanding was that the Chinese government looked the other way when it came to ethically questionable products or IP infringement, especially if the product was intended for export.

Do you know what country everyone is relocating manufacturing to?

I was in contact with SM Doll in the last week, they had no problem selling me a 128AA or 136A doll. They quoted me a 30 day lead time including shipping. Unfortunately they just don’t have that look that the AXB/Jcute dolls have.

先週SM Dollと連絡を取ったのですが、128AAや136Aのドールを販売することに何の問題もありませんでした。配送を含めて30日での納期を提示されました。残念ながら、彼らのドールはAXBやJcuteのドールのような表情を持っていないんです。

まだ中国で小さい身長のドールを製造しているブランドがある事に驚きました。AXBの新工場の国名は私からはまだ伝えられません。今は立ち上げたばかりで、状況を見守りたいと思います。

The situation with catdoll is still unclear.

International shipping is difficult in many countries and regions due to legal issues. I’m glad I was able to order from Jcute.
